GUCCI’s dirty shoes are not “dirty”, but a carefully designed retro art. The upper is made of Italy’s top soft calfskin and distressed canvas, and is hand-brushed and worn. Every yellowed and mottled detail is repeatedly polished by craftsmen to simulate the traces of years after natural wear. This “deliberate imperfection” craftsmanship makes the new shoes have a sense of story and become a contradiction of low-key luxury.
1. Material selection: The shoe body is made of canvas and matte cowhide with excellent breathability, and the lining is matched with GUCCI’s iconic red and green ribbon to ensure comfort and brand recognition;
2. Distressed dyeing: Craftsmen use special dyes to smudge multiple layers, and sandpaper is used to manually polish some parts to create a natural fading effect;
3. Detail enhancement: The rubber sole is deliberately embossed with irregular wrinkles, and the heel is slightly deformed to enhance the lazy temperament of “being pampered”.
This pair of shoes refuses industrial perfection, and gives each pair of shoes a unique soul with the warmth of handwork. Distressed is not wear and tear, but GUCCI’s reconstruction of classics – true luxury never needs to be deliberately new.
